Testimonials
Check out what some of our students have to say about learning through Brackley Music with Did Coles.
Did is an awesome musician and teacher. He is passionate about music and is the most talented, kind and patient teacher. His knowledge and skill is unparalleled. I started guitar later in life as a personal challenge. I have come so far even playing at live gigs. Through Did I have met a great bunch of people, had opportunities to play with others and experienced live sessions with singers and drummers of all ages. I cannot recommend highly enough.

I've really enjoyed working with Did over the last 12 months. I've been playing Guitar for over 20 years but never had any formal tuition so thought I'd give it a try. Did set out an approach to introduce Music Theory that worked really well around my availability and ability to practice. I am now a lot more confident and definitely a much better player.
His style is friendly, relaxed and fun so if you are looking for a teacher to help you improve your playing, I strongly recommend him.

I have been Guitar lessons with Did for around 4 years or so. My ambition to start with was to be the guy at a BBQ with a Guitar, but Did said he'd have me playing in pubs, and so he did. He is an extremely patient tutor with a vast amount of expertise and experience, but with an ability to give confidence and encouragement to students of all ages.
Did has hosted many open mic and student concert nights and has put together bands of which I am a member of one.
Did Coles is frankly an inspirational music teacher.

Did is the best guitar teacher I've had. He provides a great structure and progression with every lesson. He also gives out points that challenge you to improvement. However the differential for me is his empathy when you are struggling with something and his ability with finding a way to overcome it. Technically excellent with a sympathetic coaching style.

Did has been fantastic. He's been so supportive of our daughter Francesca. Never pushing. Always happy to go at her pace but with enough encouragement to keep her improving. Did has also been super welcoming to us as parents and great fun to be around. Thanks for everything Did. You're a star!

I have been taking Guitar lessons with Did for over 4 years now. His lessons are always fun and engaging. We have done a good mixture of learning to play songs alongside the theory of music so that I can make progress and can pick up songs, chords, and strumming patterns more easily.
Did helped me to choose the right acoustic guitar and I have since purchased an electric guitar with support. Both of which I love to play.
Did has also introduced me to music and musicians in different genres to those I would normally listen to, which has stretched my playing and listening repetoire.
There is never any pressure and we take lessons at my pace, and Did adapts his teaching to support when I can't get the hang of something, which means that I always come away feeling I have achieved. I always look forward to my weekly lessons.

My two teens have been learning with Did since primary school. They learn both piano and guitar. Did is a very modern, and if I may say, very cool, music master! He engages with them and keeps their interest by teaching them songs/music that they love. I absolutely love hearing them practice, and they have both learnt so much from their lessons.
I 100% recommend Did, my children's love of music and wanting to learn has been nurtured and encouraged by not only an amazing teacher, but also a real life rockstar too. What more could you ask for?

Did Coles' tuition has broke down boundaries and made guitar understandable and more accessible for me. I’m now playing at a level I didn’t think was possible.

Did is a friendly teacher and I always look forward to my next lesson with him. He teaches you what you want to know and was a great help when I came to do my Guitar Grades. I recommend him to everyone and hope that he will help you as much as he's helped me.
Josh Lowe (Guitar/ Band)
Did has really helped me develop as a player because he knows how to break things down, then it all makes sense! If there is something I don't understand or was unsure about from the lesson, he is always there to help you over the phone or email. I really enjoy my lessons because I am now playing songs that I have always wanted to play! Did encourages you and gives you great tips on how to overcome areas in your playing that you find difficult. Not many teachers are like him, that's what sets him apart from the rest
Renville Facey (Guitar)
After working with Did for a year and a half he gave a relaxed, fun, enviroment for musicans of any kind to work in. Always giving constructed criticism and praise when needed, yet always pushed you to the best of your ability
Cecilia Ventura (Vocals/ Band)
Did Coles has remained approachable and understanding towards new drummers and experienced drummers alike. He has treated us fairly, ensuring we had equal opportunity to perform in gigs
George Rankin (Drums/ Band)
My son (aged 7) had been nagging for a Guitar for over a year and we decided to take some lessons with Did. The early lessons quickly gave Dylan confidence and familiarity in playing the Guitar. He quickly learnt the parts and strings and went on to learn songs, chords and melodies. As Dylan is so young, keeping his interest in learning the guitar is essential and Did has managed this with a flexible and varied approach to lessons. I would happily recommend Did to anyone with Guitar/ music lessons in mind

It is my pleasure to write a testimonial for a very talented, young musician who is by far the best Guitar tutor I have encountered over the years. His technical skills are outstanding and his knowledge of all aspects of Music from Theory to equipment is first rate. A man of great patience, Did Coles is an inspirational tutor who quietly coaxes the best from his students. I can say that in the 3 years I have been receiving tuition from him that, not only has my playing and general music knowledge improved, but my confidence in public performance has grown considerably. He has unerringly directed me towards study aids and practical pieces that have gradually stretched my ability. He is the consummate tutor.
It has been my great fortune to have 'discovered' this Guitar tutor and I fear that I may never find another of the same quality

I have known Did for 3 years. I am a 'mature' Guitarist, the Bass player/ Vocalist for the Charity Band Fynnius Fogg who play live 60's & 70's music. I needed to get rid of some bad habits and improve my Acoustic work.
I have tried a number of coaches who are often show off's.... teach to make some money and only relate to their music and high standard of playing. Did listens and encourages you to articulate what you want to achieve and respects what you like. He then develops a plan, with adaption and stretch. He is talented, but uses it to demonstrate and encourage as a role model. Did's interpersonal skills are high, adapting his teaching/ coaching style.
For me it's about the performance and being part of a team, but with Did's help I have performed a solo acoustic set and played lead with my Band and Did. So I can recommend Did, who has become a coach and Musician I admire and a friend.
Bernard Hewitt - Fynnius Fogg (Guitar/ Bass/ Vocals/ Band)
Did's style of teaching is very relaxed and calm. He will help you through anything you don't understand step by step. Since going to my lessons my Guitar playing has really improved. Anyone who wants quality teaching must go to Did!

Did Coles has been teaching our 10 year old daughter for the past 7 months since starting at her new school, she didn't think she would be able to better her previous teacher but Did Coles has made her feel at ease and more confident in playing electric guitar in these short months that it has become her favourite subject at school! She has just passed her first grade with distinction which we have him to thank for all his help and guidance and most importantly making it fun for her!
Diane Wilson (Guitar)
Did is a very good teacher, I have known him for many years now and I have learned quite a bit from him. As well as being a teacher/mentor of mine, he is also a friend. I would recommend him to anyone asking after teachers that I know.
His style of teaching is very hands on, which is especially helpful for teaching guitar; as well as this he has ability to help you learn anything you want. He can also help you with the aspects of guitar that you do not normally think of as important - tone (amps, pedals, string/pick attack etc...), finesse and technique. There is one thing that does set him apart from the majority of teachers that you will find, that is his level personal experience, which you can see him using in his teaching and has helped me, over the years, to find my own style and tone - which he still helps me to improve (even if he doesn't realise it).
Some people learn from traditional teaching, which Did can do very well, however, I learn from watching people play. This is the style of teaching I find I learn most of what I have from Did, either watching him perform, or even him just demonstrating something, I find that he can convey just as much information in his playing and style as he can by telling you what he is doing. All in all Did is one of the best teachers I have had over my years of playing.
Will Stefanowicz (Guitar/ Bass/ Vocals/ Band)
Did Coles has been teaching our son to play the guitar for the last year and he is a very talented guitarist who likes to share his gift of music with children. He is passionate about music and that shines through in his teaching. He builds our child's music strengths while keeping an enjoyable atmosphere by introducing elements of innovative and interesting styles of teaching through music, mind, method and games. Choosing current and up to date songs that our son wants to learn to play, keeps him interested and involved which we feel is extremely important. Did is very informative and communicates very well with us as parents. We are grateful for the caring, creative and challenging music education that our son receives during his lessons.
Figen Rawlinson (Guitar)
I first started to learn guitar when I was 14 as a total beginner and it was one of the best decisions I have made. Guitar lessons with Did were always enjoyable, he really tailored the lessons to suit what I wanted out of them. Did's enthusiasm and passion for music really shines through in his teaching. Every lesson was exciting and I felt myself grow more and more in confidence, I was surprised at how fast I picked guitar up, playing songs in my first few lessons ! He was always interested in what I wanted to learn and what sort of music I liked - as well as exposing me to different sorts of music/guitar technique/ music theory making me a more rounded musician. One of my favourite things about lessons with Did was the student concerts he put on, this gave us a chance to perform and was always so much fun! As I am naturally shy, it really pushed me out of my comfort zone. In doing this it helped me to discover an unknown passion for performing. I really thank Did for all the opportunities he has given me and everything he has taught me, I wouldn't be where I am today without him
